Peachgood

My name is Apichaya Khomson from Thailand.

Although I was with CGHS for only one year during 2009 in Year 12, I gained a lot of experience from the school in getting to know different cultures from my international school classmates. This was fun and challenging. The subject studies taken at CGHS will be a great asset to my future studies. A variety of school activities made available to all international students have also given me many benefits as they differed from those school activities I participated in my old school in Bangkok. Having met several good friends as well as kind teachers at school I really enjoyed my valuable time at CGHS very much and will remain as great memories. I hope to be able to visit the school again in the future and will surely recommend the school to other Thai students.

My host family extended love, warmth and care to me which was much appreciated. I shall be leaving for Switzerland at the end of June 2010 for continuing my Bachelor degree in Hotel and Events Management at the International Hotel Management Institute Switzerland (IMI), Luzern.

Dhanatha Bunditkul

My name is Dhanatha Bunditkul from Thailand.

I was a student at CGHS from 2006-2009.
I have been to other schools but CGHS was the best. I have made a lot of life long friends. CGHS offers many subjects and clubs and activities. I was head of the International Club in my last year. CGHS was like a bridge to my future. It was not always about the theory of science or the lessons in class. It was about what you got out of class each day. My experience at CGHS was priceless. Currently I am studying for a bachelor of Business Administration at Assumption University in Thailand. I will never forget my high school life at Christchurch Girls’ High School.

Bo Ra

Hello, I’m Bo Ra from Korea,

My experience with CGHS will never be forgotten for the rest of my life.

When I first went to CGHS, I was so frustrated that everything was so new and different from my old life. I couldn’t understand the class and what the students were talking about. However, because of the kind new friends and teachers in my class, I slowly adapted to CGHS. Studying in another country is very challenging and has so many difficulties but I finished successfully.
Teachers and friends helped me a lot in many ways, not only during class, but also in real life. I especially liked the events at CGHS such as Library day, international day, BBQ, sports day and so on. I also enjoyed the experience of studying with different cultures because CGHS students come from all around the world. After graduating CGHS, I moved to Sydney, Australia and now I am studying for a commerce degree at McQuarrie University.

Linda Liu

Hello, my name is Linda Liu.

I am a Chinese student who has been in New Zealand for six years.
I first started in Year 11 at Christchurch Girls’ High and this is now my last year being a high school student. I have enjoyed my three years at Girls’ High as the teachers are kind and responsible. Also, the school provides a variety of great options. My favourite subjects are History, English, Economics and ICT (Information Computer Technology). These subjects are useful and have helped me to prepare for university. During my time in this school I joined the Library Committee, Senior Laboratory Assistant Committee and the Charities Committee.
My homestay family is very nice. They treat me as one of their own children.
In the future I would like to be an IT consultant in a stock exchange corporation working in the business field.
Last but not the least, I wish you all the best at Christchurch Girls’ High School.
