Fitness Opportunities The school operates a small but well equipped weights room which is available at lunchtimes and before/after school. Students must attend two training sessions on the correct procedures for use of equipment and exercise techniques before being able to use this room. Students may also attend fitness classes (weights, circuits, aerobics) before school (7.30am) on Tuesday or Thursday mornings. Mrs Kissick
Laboratory Assistants The Head Laboratory Assistant in 2009 was responsible for appointing seven Year 12 students to take charge of a laboratory each. These senior students each had a small team of junior laboratory assistants who were responsible for keeping the laboratories tidy, re-labelling grey trays and replenishing supplies under the direction of the Science Technician. Duties were carried out on a roster (one day a week), after school or at lunchtime. Laboratory assistants receive a badge after a short trial period. Meetings were held monthly, laboratory inspections carried out once a term and prizes awarded for the tidiest and most improved laboratories. Mrs Coakley
Librarians Volunteering as a Student Librarian has lots of positives. Student Librarians have the responsibility of a duty time each week. They gain some librarian and team skills, have the first read of new books (and some great morning teas). Year 11-13 students can also be part of the Library Committee. This group of students plan events in the library including Book Week. They also have the opportunity to lead a group of student librarians and to suggest new initiatives. Mrs Fowler
