| CGHS welcomed Waitaki with a great day and the weather really coming to the party with lots of water and suncream required throughout the day. The day began with Mrs Taylor and the CGHS teams welcoming the Waitaki sports teams to the school. After that it was all action and full steam ahead with the triathletes opening the exchange. This consisted of 6 senior teams and 3 junior teams fighting it out over a challenging course. CGHS were the winners of the senior teams race with Emma, Beth and Chloe winning in a time of 42.12min which was 5mins faster than the next best team which was from Waitaki. Waitaki took out all 3 places in the Junior teams race as we didn't enter a team. We then had 3 keen individuals competing in the individuals race with 2 seniors and 1 junior. Waitaki's Lisa Rush took out the title in a very good time of 48.49min with our own Kelsie Monk coming in not long after in 2nd place. Overall Waitaki took out the Triathlon exchange with 19pts to CGHS's 13pts. CGHS did very well to take out all senior and junior games in touch, volleyball and tennis. A great effort by all these girls, some great action. The senior tennis team won their games without even serving a ball with Waitaki being a bit tired to compete due to a heavy playing schedule back home. Waitaki had the better of us in Croquet ending up convincing winners but didn't go down without a fight. The overall results for the exchange ended up with CGHS winning 5 wins to Waitaki's 4 wins. Well done to all involved. |
